A truely massive Rhaetulus didieri, only 1mm beneath the prized giant in my personal collection.

Any R. didieri over the magical 80mm considered big, this one the largest I have to offer, one of two over the 80mm mark.

Interestingly, the 84mm has noticeably heavier mandibles when compared to the 83mm.

The 84mm also achieves greater length with it's antlers. I find this surprising considering the difference of only 1mm.

Very, very small chip to right elytra, not noticeable.

A true centre peice for a collection, be sure to move on this rare find, I feel a collector who has a true love of giant lucanidae will regret not moving on this one.
