A taxidermy specimen from my personal collection.
This large, wild, 72mm curvidens has sustained a large puncture-hole in the elytra.
This battle wound inflicted by another male, potentially over a female.
Marked down in price, but I feel this wound adds character to the specimen.
Collected in foothills to high country, a local collector climbed high into a giant rainforest tree to source it.
Not many people realise just how dangerous this activity is for the local collectors.
To fall from 80 feet up, no safety equipment, certain death!
