Tarandus from Kalimantan have a truly unique antler form, resembling a medieval weapon.
Unusually, smaller tarandus tend to maintain antler development, a trait not demonstrated with most cyclommatus.
These stags are day active, feeding on low-land plants that produce a berry.
Collection requires a concentrated study of these shrubs, finding one or two hidden within the foilage.
